01 / HOW TO IDENTIFY IT
Match the shape, not just the words.
Look for a circle with W or a crossed W. Professional wet cleaning is a specialist process distinct from domestic machine washing.
A crossed W-circle prohibits professional wet cleaning, even though other cleaning processes might still be permitted on the remaining label.
02 / WHAT TO DO
The practical decision.
Do not extrapolate from this to “never use water at home” without consulting the tub mark: professional wet cleaning and domestic washing are different systems.
This restriction applies to professional wet cleaning; it does not automatically prohibit every home wash.
03 / WHAT PEOPLE CONFUSE
One small detail changes the meaning.
This is not the same as do not dry clean, which prohibits solvent-based professional processes.
04 / AFTER YOU IDENTIFY IT
Check the rest of the tag.
The washing, bleaching, drying, ironing and professional-care instructions work together. This page interprets one symbol only; a blank or unreadable mark does not grant permission for any other treatment.
Never replace the maker’s written instructions with a guess based only on material composition or appearance. Read the complete care-label method.
