CHECK THE TAG / PUBLICATION NOTES

Privacy and local device data.

No sign-up, server-side photo processing or advertising tracker is required to use Check The Tag.

01 / EDITORIAL NOTE

Decoder and wardrobe

Your selected care symbols and saved garments remain in browser local storage on your device. You may export or import a JSON wardrobe backup; those files contain names you typed and should be kept private.

02 / EDITORIAL NOTE

Photograph magnifier

A photograph chosen in the optional image magnifier is handled entirely in your browser with a local object URL. The app does not upload the photograph or send it to a recognition API. Closing or reloading clears the temporary image.

03 / EDITORIAL NOTE

Wash-day plan

The optional wash-day planner reads saved garments from local storage. Colour groups you choose are held only for the current visit. The planner does not claim to check colourfastness or all fabric interactions.

04 / EDITORIAL NOTE

Analytics and hosting

The static app does not bundle third-party analytics. Your hosting provider may process standard network request metadata. You may connect Google Search Console independently; any optional analytics you install later require an updated privacy notice.

Sharing and installation

Shared care URLs encode selected symbol IDs in the link. Anyone with that link may inspect its contents. The service worker caches static app assets for offline use. Browser site settings can clear stored garments.
