FIBRE GUIDE / DELICATE KNIT

How to care for a cashmere sweater.

Cashmere is a fine animal fibre, and the garment construction can be more vulnerable than its soft feel suggests. A fibre label does not replace the finished garment’s wash instruction.

FABRIC FIELD NOTE / CASHMEREcashmereDO NOT GUESS FROM THE FIBRE NAME

01 / BEFORE YOU START

Read the sewn-in care label first.

Inspect the actual wash tub and any printed note. When hand wash is allowed, handle gently and avoid rubbing, twisting or long unattended soaks. If the label prohibits washing, use the permitted professional method instead.

02 / DRYING & SHAPE

The step that can change a garment.

A washed cashmere knit is generally best supported flat and carefully reshaped; do not assume tumble drying is acceptable. Keep the item away from direct heater contact and check the care tag for shade-drying details.

03 / COMMON MISTAKE

What not to assume.

The common failure is washing a cashmere knit like an ordinary cotton tee, then lifting it by the shoulders while saturated. Mechanical action and wet stretching can both change the result.

04 / MATCH YOUR MARKS

Care symbols worth checking.

Only the garment's own symbols and manufacturer instructions can establish permitted temperatures, cycles or drying methods. This material article is not a personalized safety guarantee.
