FIBRE GUIDE / PLANT FIBRE

How to wash linen and manage creasing.

Linen fibres can withstand many common domestic processes, but a finished linen piece may have restrictive dyes, tailoring, lining or shrinkage-sensitive finishes.

FABRIC FIELD NOTE / LINENlinenDO NOT GUESS FROM THE FIBRE NAME

01 / BEFORE YOU START

Read the sewn-in care label first.

Choose the printed tub temperature and cycle rather than a generic “hot wash linen” rule. New colours and mixed linen garments may need a gentler approach than a plain white household linen article.

02 / DRYING & SHAPE

The step that can change a garment.

Follow the square: some linen articles are line dried while others are suitable for tumble drying. Promptly removing the article from the washer can reduce creasing, but does not override the drying mark.

03 / COMMON MISTAKE

What not to assume.

A three-dot iron setting is only permitted if the iron mark actually shows it. Do not assume maximum ironing heat from the fibre name alone.

04 / MATCH YOUR MARKS

Care symbols worth checking.

Only the garment's own symbols and manufacturer instructions can establish permitted temperatures, cycles or drying methods. This material article is not a personalized safety guarantee.
